How We Review AI Coding Tools
Every tool on VibecodedThis is tested hands-on before we publish anything. Here's how we approach reviews.
What We Evaluate
We assess each tool across the areas that matter most to working developers:
- Code completion quality — How accurate and context-aware are the suggestions?
- Chat and agentic features — Can it explain, refactor, and write multi-file changes?
- Language and framework support — Which languages and ecosystems does it handle well?
- Editor integration — Which editors are supported and how smooth is the experience?
- Pricing — What does it cost, and is the free tier useful?
- Privacy and security — Where does your code go? Can you run it locally?
How We Test
We use each tool for real coding tasks — not synthetic benchmarks. This includes:
- Writing new features in TypeScript, Python, and other languages
- Refactoring existing codebases
- Debugging real errors
- Writing tests
- Multi-file edits and project-wide changes
What We Don't Do
- We don't assign numeric scores. Condensing a tool's value into a single number obscures more than it reveals.
- We don't declare "winners" in comparisons. Different tools suit different workflows.
- We don't accept payment for positive reviews or higher rankings.
Pricing Verification
Every pricing claim on this site links to the tool's official pricing page and includes a "last verified" date. Pricing changes frequently — always check the source before purchasing.
